Cheesy Boiled Potato Fries

This recipe gives you soft-on-the-inside, crispy-on-the-outside potato fries coated in gooey melted cheese.

Ingredients:

  • 3 large potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (for boiling)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the potatoes

    • Peel and cut the potatoes into thick fries.
    • Boil in salted water for 5-7 minutes until slightly tender (but not too soft).
    • Drain and let them dry completely.
  2. Coat the fries

    • In a bowl, mix cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
    • Toss the boiled potatoes in this mixture to coat evenly.
  3. Fry the potatoes

    • Heat butter or oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Fry the potatoes until crispy and golden brown on all sides.
  4. Melt the cheese

    • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the hot fries.
    • Cover for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
  5. Serve & enjoy

    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
