Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
2 tbsp sugar (or sugar substitute)
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 ½ tsp salt
Instructions:
1. Activate the Yeast:
In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water.
Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
2. Mix the Dough:
Add melted butter, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Stir until combined.
Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a dough forms.
3. Knead the Dough:
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
4. First Rise:
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
5. Shape & Second Rise:
Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Cover and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes.
6. Bake:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
7. Cool & Serve:
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Slice once cooled and enjoy!
