Biscuits and Sausage Gravy (Low-Carb Option Included)
A classic Southern comfort meal, perfect for breakfast-for-supper!
Ingredients:
For the Biscuits:
2 cups almond flour (or 2 cups all-purpose flour for traditional biscuits)
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp cold butter, cubed
2 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
For the Sausage Gravy:
1 lb breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp almond flour (or regular flour for traditional gravy)
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or regular milk)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions:
Step 1: Make the Biscuits
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, mix almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture looks crumbly.
4. Stir in eggs and heavy cream until dough forms.
5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Step 2: Make the Sausage Gravy
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the sausage, breaking it up as it cooks.
2. Add butter and stir until melted.
3. Sprinkle almond flour (or regular flour) over the sausage and stir for 1 minute.
4. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and almond milk, stirring constantly.
5. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
6. Season with black pepper, salt, and garlic powder.
