Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole

 











Ingredients:


1 lb ground beef


4 cups potatoes (peeled and thinly sliced)


1 small onion (chopped)


2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of cheddar)


½ cup milk


½ teaspoon garlic powder


½ teaspoon salt


½ teaspoon black pepper


1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)



Instructions:


1. Preheat & Cook the Beef


1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.



2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.




2. Assemble the Casserole


3. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.



4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the cooked beef. Pour half of the soup mixture over it and sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese.



5. Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and top with the last cup of cheese.




3. Bake & Serve


6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then, remove foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.



7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
