Ingredients:
6 slices bacon, chopped
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium head of cabbage, cored and chopped
½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Instructions:
1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
2. Sauté the onion in the bacon grease until soft (about 3-4 minutes). Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
3. Add the cabbage, stirring to coat it in the bacon grease. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly browned.
4. Season with smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
5. Stir in the crispy bacon, mix well, and cook for another 2 minutes.
6. Serve warm as a side dish or enjoy on its own!
Would you like any variations, like adding sausage or making it spicier?
