Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1/2 lb (250g) minced beef or turkey
1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or thyme
1 egg (for egg wash)
Sesame seeds or nigella seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Set to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Filling: Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add minced meat, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with paprika, black pepper, salt, and oregano. Cook until browned, then let it cool.
3. Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into squares or rectangles.
4. Fill & Seal: Place a spoonful of minced meat mixture onto each piece, sprinkle with cheese, and fold the pastry over to seal. Press the edges with a fork.
5. Egg Wash & Bake: Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds if using, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
6. Serve & Enjoy: Best enjoyed warm with a side of yogurt or dipping sauce!
