Slow Cooker Hamburger Potato Casserole (Sugar-Free & Comforting)


Ingredients:


1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)


4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced


1 small onion, diced


2 cloves garlic, minced


1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)


1 ½ cups unsweetened beef broth (or chicken broth)


½ cup heavy cream (or unsweetened almond milk for dairy-free)


1 tsp salt


½ tsp black pepper


½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)


½ tsp dried thyme


1 tbsp butter (for greasing slow cooker)



Instructions:


1. Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion and garlic until beef is browned. Drain excess grease.



2. Layer the Casserole: Grease the slow cooker with butter. Layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the cooked beef. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and beef.



3. Make the Sauce: In a bowl, mix the beef broth and heavy cream. Pour over the layers in the slow cooker.



4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until potatoes are tender.



5. Add Cheese: In the last 15 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and let it melt.



6. Serve & Enjoy! Scoop onto plates and serve warm.
