Ingredients
2 cups frozen tater tots, thawed
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
1 tbsp chopped chives (optional)
1 egg, beaten
¼ cup almond flour (or regular flour)
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Salt & pepper to taste
Oil for frying or baking
Instructions
1. Mash the tots: In a bowl, mash the thawed tater tots until they form a dough-like consistency.
2. Mix in flavors: Add crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
3. Form tots: Take about a tablespoon of the mixture, roll it into a ball, and press slightly to shape into a tot.
4. Coat: Dip each tot into the beaten egg, then roll in almond flour for extra crispiness.
5. Cook:
Frying: Heat oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C) and fry the tots for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel.
Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), place tots on a parchment-lined tray, and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
Air frying: Set to 375°F (190°C) and air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking halfway through.
6. Serve: Enjoy with sour cream, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce!
